Study in Canada

Elementary School in Canada

The public elementary school in Canada accepts International students to apply. The tuition fee is around CAD $15,000 every year, it depends on different public school boards. As the International students are still too young, so the school is not able to offer homestay arrangement, therefore, students are recommended to live with the relatives in Canada during the study.

 

Qualifications:

1. A custodian is required during the time of study in Canada, he/she should be a PR or Canadian.

2. School placement : School board will assign the school to the students according to the age, academic background, English level, school vacancies and the address in Canada.

Secondary School in Canada

The public and private secondary school in Canada accepts International students to apply. The tuition fee and accommodation fee are around CAD $28,000 to $55,000 every year, it depends on different public school boards and private schools. The public school boards can offer homestay only and most of the private schools are offering dormitory service to the students.

Qualifications:

1. For students under 18 or 19 years old, a custodian is required during the time of study in Canada, he/she should be a PR or Canadian. School representatives can be the custodian of the student with extra cost.

2. Public school placement : School board will assign the school to the students according to the age, academic background, English level, school vacancies and the address in Canada.

3. Private School : Some schools require English test or Skype Interview to the students before admission.

Colleges in Canada

There are around 100 universities in Canada and most of the Bachelor Degree programs generally last 3 to 4 years to complete. Students who may not be eligible for the direct entry of Year 1 study can study in College for 1 or 2 years, and then transfer to university for Year 2 or Year 3 to complete the study. The tuition fee of College is lower than university and the credits you have earned in College are transferable to the university. For example, 1 credit in college may cost CAD $550 but it costs CAD $800 to 1,300 to study 1 credit in university. Therefore, some students may prefer to study in College even though they are eligible to study Year 1 in university.

 

Qualifications:

1. Students completed F.5 can enrol to a 8-month foundation course and 1 year University Transfer Program in the college, then transfer to University for Year 2 study.

2. Students completed F.6 can enrol University Transfer Program in the college for 1 or 2 years, then transfer to University Year 2 or Year 3 after earning 30 to 59 credits in College. They can transfer to the universities among Canada such as UBC, SFU, University of Victoria.

Master Programs in Canada

Master Programs in Canada generally last 2 years and students with CGPA 3.0 or above and IELTS 6.5 or above can enroll. Some programs require students to provide GMAT and GRE reports. Students who have completed the master program in Canada have high possibilities to immigrate to Canada because they are eligible to apply for Post-Graduation Work Permit to work in Canada for 3 years.

 

Some science graduates in BC who has completed the master degree can apply for BC Provincial Nomination Program and apply the permanent resident of Canada without any work experience in Canada, which is a fast and efficient way to immigrate to Canada.

Summer Camp

Schools in Canada may offer the campus-based or homestay-based summer program for international student with indoor and outdoor learning environments to create an unique Canadian educational experience. Students can learn English and explore the country at the same time with the opportunity to make new friends from different culture.

 

Big cities such as Vancouver and Toronto, or small cities such as Fredericton in New Brunswick, students between 9 to 17 years old are welcome to join their summer programs in 2 to 4 weeks. This can be the first learning experience for the students if they would like to study in Canada in the future.
