POST-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) has been extended by 18 months (discontinued)

During the pandemic, many newly graduated students were suspended from work, which slowed down their progress in obtaining Canadian work experience hours, thus affecting their immigration application plans. In view of this, the Immigration Department has approved the extension of the Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) for up to 18 months. The conditions include:


  • The original visa expired on or after January 30, 2020 ; or The original visa will expire in 4 months (calculated from the date of application for visa extension)

  • Hold a valid travel passport

  • And some detailed conditions
